Holy Week Devotional

This time last year, I was busy writing my Lenten devotional. I can honestly say that I miss those daily posts/devotionals. If you are reading the devotional this season, I pray it is ministering to you as you Sit At His Feet.

I may not be writing a daily devotional this year, but I was honored to be asked by my church, Prestonwood Baptist Church, to be a contributor to this year's Holy Week daily devotionals. Today is the day my post was sent out and I wanted to share it with you. You can read it and past/future posts by clicking HERE
Today as America woke up to the horrific news out of Brussels, I am praying for our world. I pray for those who have yet to make a decision to follow Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). For many people, a radical change needs to take place in their lives. This life-changing decision is radical because it requires a complete heart change in each one of us. We cannot personally accomplish this heart change. We can only achieve it by complete surrender to Jesus and the filling and power of the Holy Spirit. Only this leads to life, and it leads to love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). The world could use a whole lot more of the fruit of the Spirit.
We can't single-handedly stop terrorism, but we can each evaluate our reliance and belief in the power of the Holy Spirit. Ask yourself these questions today:
  1. Do you believe in the third person of the Trinity (the Holy Spirit)?
  2. Do you possess the Holy Spirit?
  3. Do you fully rely on the power of the Holy Spirit in your daily life?
As we celebrate the risen King this weekend, remember that Jesus told the disciples it was better for us that He leave so that He could send us a Helper (John 16:7). He sent us the Holy Spirit so that the Spirit's power can bring glory to the Father.

Don't miss the opportunity to be used by God to bring Him glory by neglecting the power He has already provided to each and every believer in Jesus Christ.
