Do you realize you are standing on holy ground each and every day? God, the Creator of the Universe, created the very ground on which you stand. That makes it holy. When Moses approached the burning bush, the voice of God said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground” (Exodus 3:5, emphasis mine). It was at that bush on that holy ground God delivered the plan He had for Moses' life. Moses felt inadequate for the job, but God is bigger than our doubt, and even when we hesitate and stumble, God will use us if we are willing.

In former times in Israel, a man would remove his sandal and give it to another concerning the redemption and the exchange of land to confirm any matter (see Ruth 4:7). The exchange of the sandal sealed the deal.

Jesus didn't just exchange His sandal for you and me; He exchanged His life. He gave up His life so that we can be reconciled with God through our faith and His grace. Once we make this choice, our life is no longer our own. This new life reveals gifts, dreams, passions, and purpose that may never have existed before. As the Holy Spirit guides you, God's plan for your life unfolds.

How do I know this? Because God didn't give up on me. He saved me from a pit, redeemed me, adopted me, and gave me a purpose. My purpose is to write, teach, and speak about the truth of God's Word, and the power it has in our lives.

My feet may get dusty and tired as I travel this road, but God said in Isaiah 52:7, "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!"
