I'm Obsessed with OnlyFans

I thought that title might get your attention. A Jesus follower “obsessed” with OnlyFans? I know what some of you were thinking….she’s gone to the progressive Christianity movement. Ha!

There’s no drama here about it. Yes, I am obsessed with OnlyFans, but not for the reason some of you might have first thought. Keep reading.

“How in the world do you know about OnlyFans mom?” my 20-year-old daughter asked me when I mentioned something about it the other day. Who doesn’t know about OnlyFans? It’s a platform that has slowly risen from its almost obscure days in 2016 to its mainstream recognition during the dark days of the dreaded C virus…just another one of the many terrible things that came out of that weapon.

So, why am I obsessed? I am obsessed with it because of the damage it is doing to society. What was once an industry cloaked in darkness and secrecy, OnlyFans has exploded into every facet of life, where it is being idolized as something that gives people “control of their bodies” and “freedom.” What? The porn industry, for decades, made its profit off of a few players who were deranged enough to think it was good theatre and drugged and duped enough not to know any better. The owners of these studios, production teams, and the actors/actresses themselves numbered in the relatively low digits. Being part of this industry was usually not a voluntary choice (although there were some who went in full steam ahead), and getting out was not easy. It wasn’t easy to walk around with that kind of work on your resume and get a respectable job. And, the work was done in seedy darkness.

Yet, here we are in 2025 with OnlyFans parading around in the light. Now, every woman and man can be their own version of whomever they dare to be on a platform for willing subscribers to log in to. While it may be true initially, control is one thing the “actors” have, as they get to decide what they want to do… until more things get more clicks, which in turn earns more money.

I can imagine the enemy saying to any one of these people, “You have already done this, so why not just do this. You are always in control, remember. Don’t you want to earn what you deserve? Who is the boss of you?”

Now it appears that OnlyFans is attracting college kids who are looking to earn cash. Their frontal lobes aren’t fully formed until the age of 25, and here they are, making decisions that will forever be permanent out there in digital space with lurking eyes. It’s enough to make you want to vomit out loud. They may feel safe because they are doing these posts within the safety of their homes and dorms, but they aren’t safe at all.

Violence is on the rise in America. Serial killers have spoken in the past about how they watched porn to psyche themselves up before they would go on to attack their victims. And yet, no one is speaking out about OnlyFans. Silence….well, except for the ones being used by the enemy to lure others in.

People understand what human trafficking is. People fight against it, donate toward it, pray about it…but isn’t OnlyFans just a digital version of human trafficking? A company, OnlyFans, is profiting off the dubious desires of those sucked into the world of lust, pornography, and darkness. And now, it is claiming the lives of more and more young adults.

If you still watch Pretty Woman and think that movie is cute and okay, this may be the sign of the first problem. We can’t applaud or encourage any form of prostitution, pornography, or OnlyFans-type content. It needs to end with this generation. College campus groups, speak to your students. Church pastors, talk to your congregation. We need light to shine into this darkness.

Dear Lord, your eyes roam the face of this earth at all times. I know what you see disheartens you. Forgive us, and forgive those who do not know what they are doing. Open our eyes and hearts as well as theirs to your ways and your will. Show us where we can step in and help convey your message of how much you love each one of us as your own and want nothing more than for us to be fully reconciled with you. Please help us help those caught in the cycle of digital strongholds and set them free. I pray that this platform, OnlyFans, would crash and burn because nothing good comes out of it. Destroy the content. In Jesus’ name, Amen
